Let's go HIKING!

DONUT FALLS

July 26, 2000 was a day I never thought would be really that important, but you truly never know what will happen. Ten years ago Spencer and I meet for the first time on a group date. The date wasn't even set up for us, but for two of our friends. For the date we hiked up to Donut Falls, so last night July 26, 2010 we decided to hike the same hike again. It started raining the moment we got there. We had planned for some rainy weather and had all the kids bring a jacket. Only did we find out after we started hiking that we had forgotten Tyler's at home....Oops! We packed along some Lunchables to eat for dinner.

We didn't go all the way up the falls, because it was really wet, and we didn't want any of the boys to fall. Trevor was a nice big brother, and he gave Tyler his jacket to wear. It really wasn't that cold, but just really wet.

I carried Kairi in our Snugglie and she even ate her bottle in there. She didn't seem to mind it was raining, and loved just being carried around.

Dilan loved playing in the water even though he was soaked!

I couldn't get Bryson to keep he feet out of the water, so I had him stand on this rock for pictures....it worked for a while.

Trevor had to pose while I took his picture...he even did that face on purpose. He is so funny sometimes.

Spencer and all the boys.

Then on the way back down from the falls, Bryson spotted this rock and said it was a submarine. I love to look through a three year olds eyes sometimes.

As we were heading down the canyon we saw a deer on the side of the road. This in my mind made it the most successful hiking trip possible. Deer always make me think of my dad, because he loved when we got to see them when he took us hiking. Even though it rained, this was a really fun thing to do with our family, and we have decided that it will be a tradition we do as a family every year.

July 4th weekend

I have been trying to write this for a while now...date will be off :)

What a fun weekend. I saw somebody comment on how dumb that we didn't just celebrate the fourth on the actual fourth, but I completely disagree...why celebrate one when we can do three? Saturday, Spencer and I worked most of the day on a swing set for the boys. It is still not nearly done, but we did as much as we could that day. We headed up to my moms house for the fireworks/carnival at the Eaglewood golf course. This has been an annual tradition for my family now, and I LOVE IT! My kids now look forward to this every year and talk about it all year long. This year almost the whole family came, plus friends too. It was awesome!

Us with just the boys

Tiffany and Natalie

Kairi with her aunt Kay

Tobi and Mason

My Mom sporting some sunglasses

My sister Mandy took these pictures and she isn't in one, Thanks Mandy :)

Monday my family headed up to pineview reservoir. We got the boys life jackets this year, so it was even more fun, because we didn't have to stress where they were constantly.

Bryson loved just laying on this raft

Trevor playing in the sand

Dilan loved that he got to eat ding dongs at the beach..ha ha

Tyler thought the water was too cold, so he enjoyed playing with everything on the sand.

My mom just read on the beach too, but helped out holding Kairi for us too.

Spencer enjoyed his day with the boys

It was fun with Kay, Ben, Tobi, Mandy, Chris and her fiance Randy and mom Gloria, and my cousin Jenny too. We ate hot dogs for lunch, and of course treats :) Days like this make me so grateful for my family. I love that my kids get to be with their aunts and uncles for holidays, and I hope they realize how lucky they truly are to have so many people that love them around.
